Capital Seafood-Market is a seafood market in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is listed at 676 Maywood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27603, which places it among the local businesses of Raleigh that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as fish & chips restaurant, seafood restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Raleigh with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in North Carolina may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 9 amβ6 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (919) 838-1300. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is capitalseafoodmarkettogo.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 867 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Im usually skeptical about where to purchase blue crabs from but this place delivered. The crabs did not look like they were dead, smelly or hadn't been tended too...(If you know you know). Great price and for this time of the year the males were actually decent size.

This was my first time visiting the store, my sister suggested I try here since I was looking for fresh fish. The service left something to be desired. Not sure if it was understaffed today or what but service was very slow. Was happy to find out that not only are they a fish market they also offer cleaning and frying services. Which would save me a lot of time and clean up at home (not mention the smell). I asked for my fish to be cleaned, scales removed, gutted, fins trimmed and eyes removed (pretty standard way to clean a fish maybe minus eye removal) as well as having it fried. I was told 15-20 minutes and it took almost an hour to get my food. I went back in the store while I was waiting for my fried foods to purchase two more raw fish, I stood in the store ALONE for well over 10 minutes and wasnβt helped until some other customers came inside and they started to help them instead of me that I spoke up that I have been standing here waiting for service I was here first. Anyways my fish was NOT descaled properly scales are still VERY visible around the fish and some areas they scraped all the skin off down to the flesh, its very disappointing for a first time visit after it was

My sister's and I stopped for carryout. Excellent choice of fresh seafood. The fish was fresh and good. Only one complaint. I bought 3 perch, fresh; so they had to be cleaned. Cost $19.00 This is my first time Ever, I had to ask for bread. I got it free but, was told that I wasn't charged for it. Cost 2 slices of white bread $1. Who sells fish without bread. Who??? They need to fix that. Don't nickel and dime your costumers. You have a good business; treat your customers well.

This was my go to until yesterday, even with the subpar customer service from the cook. Wings were bleeding, greens had no flavor. Still giving 2 stars because the fresh seafood never misses.

Oh hey, it's you again. This place is not only a seafood market but also has a food truck where they can cook your requested carcass, formerly aquatic. Oh you're going to cook at home tonight? Perfect. They also have the legs of (former) crabs at a reasonable price and fish (deceased) by the pound. And, get this, spices are also for sale. I really enjoyed the popcorn shrimp, Mac & cheese, and green beans.
